What is a pool pump?

A pool pump pulls water from the skimmer and main drain, pushes it through the filter and other treatment equipment, and returns it to the pool. The right pump is not automatically the model with the largest motor. It is the pump that can deliver the needed flow against the resistance of the actual system while remaining within the limits of the filter, heater, chlorinator and plumbing.
